Hello,
I bought my new HP Pavilion 15cx0017na two days ago. I went through set-up as required and everything is working just fine. The only issue that I experience is loud noise of fans when I play games - for example Dota 2 or Ring of Elysium. I Updated my BIOS to current version as I read that this might be an issue. Still not working. Next I double checked temperature of my GPU and CPU and it seems like the noise starts when the temperature goes over 50 degrees - Dota keeps both on 65-70 degrees all the time. I know that fans needs to start working as my GPU and CPU are getting to work, however noise is really loud and really annoying. Can you please give me an idea, what might be wrong?/how to resolve this problem? Would cooling pad resolve this, or is there any tool that can manage fans?
Thank you in advance for your answer,
Michal

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Community,
This looks like a possible hardware failure with the notebook. However, I would suggest you try these steps here:
I would recommend you go ahead and run an extensive system test from F2(Please capture the failure ID for further assistance).
If the test fails, I would suggest this could be a possible hardware failure. I would recommend you contact our HP support team for further assistance.
HP support can be reached on www.hp.com/contacthp
If the test passes, I would suggest you update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC either from our HP support website, using this link or download it using HP support assistant.
Download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Hello, thank you for your response.
I tried every step you recommended. No failure or error during fast and extensive system test. I updated every bit of laptot as was suggested, installed HP Support Assistant is showing no new updates. I also tried to every step from the Fan Is Noisi and Spins Constantly guide, nothing helped - I didn't clean vents, as I believe, they should be cleaned as this is brand new laptop. Further I downloaded two programs to find out my CPU and GPU temperature when playing games - specifically Ring of Elysium - please find photos attached - similar temperatures are during game of Dota 2. Temperature seems a bit high, but as I am not an expert, can you please tell me if this is okey or should be different. Thank you for your answer in advance.

According the Product specifications, I see that your PC has been shipped with Intel® Core™ i5-8300H Processor.
Now according to Intel support your processor supports upto 100°C, which means the temperature shown is normal.
Anything above 100°C might be risky.
For more details, please go through this Intel support site and scroll down to Package Specifications and here look for T Junction (Temperature Junction).
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.
That said, If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.
- Has it always been like this from the time you purchased the computer?
- Does the laptop shuts down due to overheating?
- Does it freeze or lockup?
Excess heat will cause the fans to run constantly, damage components, and limit the speed of the CPU. All of these problems with high power and high heat will cause applications to work slower than normal. One of the main functions of the BIOS is to monitor the temperature and adjust the operating conditions. While the sound of the fan running all the time can be annoying, it may be the first clue that your computer is running as efficiently as possible. dqfanfeedback
Let's start with performing a hard reset on the PC to release any excessive static/power that could have cause the issue.
Turn off the computer.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here to Perform Bios Defaults:
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
