Hi @dhruv8484
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That’s frustrating! A battery stuck at 2% could indicate a calibration issue, a faulty battery, or a power management problem. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Battery Reset
- Shut down your laptop.
- Disconnect the charger and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the charger back in and turn on the laptop.
- Check if the battery percentage updates.
2. Run HP Battery Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly.
- Select F2 > System Tests > Battery Test.
- If the test shows a failure, the battery may need replacement.
3. Reinstall Battery Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Batteries, right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop—Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
4. Consider Battery Replacement
- If diagnostics confirm a faulty battery, check your warranty status here.
- If out of warranty, you can find replacement batteries on HP’s official store or third-party retailers.
Let me know if any of these steps help! If the issue persists, professional repair might be the best option.
