Hi @ayaan_9877,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To help narrow down the issue, I need a few more details:

  • Did the camera ever work before, or has it shown this error since the very first setup?
  • When you open Device Manager, do you see the camera listed under Imaging devices or Cameras, or is it missing entirely?
  • Have you installed any recent Windows or HP updates that might have affected drivers?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps worth trying:

  • Check privacy settings: Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Camera and make sure camera access is enabled for apps.
  • Update drivers: In Device Manager, right‑click the camera (if listed) and update the driver. If it’s missing, check HP’s support page for your Victus model and install the latest camera driver.
  • Enable camera in BIOS: Some HP laptops have a BIOS setting to enable/disable the camera. Restart and press Esc → F10 to enter BIOS, then check if the camera is enabled.
  • HP Support Assistant: Run HP Support Assistant to scan for missing drivers or firmware updates.
  • Check physical camera switch: Some HP laptops have a small shutter or function key (like Fn + F10) to disable/enable the camera. Make sure it’s not turned off.
  • Windows Troubleshooter: Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters and run the Camera troubleshooter.

When you open Device Manager, do you see the camera listed at all, or is it completely absent? That detail will help figure out whether this is a driver issue or a hardware detection problem.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead!

Best regards,

Deep_World
