my hp laptop is having slow performance issue and full lagging

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

You mentioned that your HP Victus laptop is running slow and lagging, even though it’s less than a month old.

 

Restart the Laptop – A fresh restart clears temporary files and background processes.

Check for Windows & HP Updates

Go to Settings → Windows Update and install all pending updates.

Open HP Support Assistant → update drivers, BIOS, and system utilities.

 

Check Task Manager

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, and go to the Processes tab.

Look for apps using high CPU, memory, or disk. End unnecessary tasks.

 

Disable Startup Apps

Go to Task Manager → Startup tab and disable programs you don’t need at startup.

 

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Restart: press Esc repeatedly, then F2.

Run a system test and memory/hard drive test to ensure hardware is healthy.

 

Check Storage

Ensure at least 15–20% of your disk space is free. A full drive can slow down performance.

 

Scan for Malware

Run a full security scan with Windows Security or your antivirus software.

 

Reset if Needed

If lag persists, go to Settings → Recovery → Reset this PC (choose the Keep my files option).
