@Coding_Photon00, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your screen is flickering only when accessing the BIOS, but works fine when connected to an external monitor and HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tests are passing, it suggests a hardware-level issue with the internal display or its connection, rather than a software or driver problem.

Here are some steps to help isolate and potentially resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset

This can help clear any residual power issues:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power adapter.
  • If the battery is removable, take it out.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power, then try entering BIOS again.

Check Display Cable Connection

If you're comfortable opening the device:

  • Reseat the LCD ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard.
  • Look for any signs of damage or loose connection.
  • If you're unsure, it's best to visit HP-authorized service center and have a technician inspect it.

Test with External Monitor in BIOS

  • If the external monitor does not flicker in BIOS, the issue is likely with the internal display panel or cable.
  • If both screens flicker, it could point to a motherboard or GPU issue.

Update BIOS (if accessible)

If you can boot into Windows:

  • Visit Official HP® Support
  • Enter your product name or serial number.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS update available.

Important: Ensure the system is stable and connected to power before updating BIOS.

Run HP UEFI Diagnostics Again

Even though you mentioned all tests passed, try running the Display Test specifically:

  • Turn off the PC.
  • Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests > Display.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
