Hi @gnolba,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for your question, and congrats on your new Victus by HP 15.6" Gaming Laptop (15-fb3000, A8RU5AV)! You're right to check the TGP (Total Graphics Power) of your GPU, as it directly affects gaming and rendering performance.

What’s the TGP of Your GPU?

Based on HP’s official performance specs, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 and RTX 3050 GPUs used in Victus laptops typically come with lower TGP configurations to balance thermals and battery life.

For RTX 2050:

  • TGP: 35W to 50W
  • This is common in entry-level gaming laptops and thin designs

For RTX 3050:

  • TGP: 50W to 95W
  • Some Victus models are limited to 50W, especially in budget or thermally constrained builds

Why Is Your TGP Limited to 50W?

Your specific model (A8RU5AV) likely uses a low-power RTX 2050 or 3050 variant to maintain cooler operation and longer battery life. HP does not always advertise TGP in product listings, but internal specs confirm this limitation for certain configurations.

Unfortunately, TGP is locked by BIOS and firmware, so it cannot be manually increased. However, you can:

  • Use max performance mode in HP Command Center
  • Keep your laptop cool with a cooling pad
  • Ensure the latest BIOS and GPU drivers are installed

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
