Hi @yoanPer21,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with your laptop's microphone hardware or its connection to the system. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that the microphone is properly connected to your laptop. If it's an external microphone, make sure it's plugged into the correct port. If it's built-in, there might be a physical switch or button to enable/disable it.
  • Update Drivers: You mentioned that you've already reinstalled the drivers, but it's worth double-checking if there are any updates available for your audio drivers. You can do this through the Device Manager on Windows or the equivalent utility on your operating system.
  • Check Privacy Settings: Sometimes, privacy settings can block applications from accessing your microphone. Go to your system settings and check the privacy settings related to microphone access. Make sure that the apps you're using have permission to access the microphone.
  • Test with Another Application: Try using a different application that requires microphone access, such as a voice recorder or online meeting software. This can help determine if the issue is with a specific application or if it's a system-wide problem.
  • Run Troubleshooters: Many operating systems have built-in troubleshooters for audio and hardware problems. Run these troubleshooters to see if they can identify and fix the issue.
  • Check BIOS/UEFI Settings: In some cases, the microphone may be disabled in the BIOS or UEFI settings of your laptop. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2 or Del during startup). Look for any settings related to audio or peripherals and ensure that the microphone is enabled.
  • Hardware Diagnostics: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the microphone. Many laptops come with built-in hardware diagnostics tools that can help identify hardware issues. Check your laptop's documentation for instructions on how to run these diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
