OMEN X by HP - 17-ap010nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I think this might be a hardware issue of sorts, the "A" key on my Omen X is having response issues. I was in the middle of a game when all of a sudden, the "A" key started having issues with responding. By this, I mean that 80% of the time I press it, it won't work or be recognized as being pressed. To rephrase, it's not fully broken to the point that no matter what I do, it will not work, but there is some issue that is making it so that it won't work a vast majority of the time, making most games near unplyable. I have already tried taking a keyboard dust remover to targer the area under the "A" key, as well as physically removing any and all obstructions where possible. Even after this, I still have to press the key many times until I can manage one "a" to appear or be recognized as an input. Aside from a little heat from extensive use to a very minor extent, this laptop has had no prior damage nor issues of any kind. It's just all of a sudden had the "a" key have input issues. This is my first time using HP forums, and used the now-problematic laptop in question to type this out. The laptop is still under warranty for another month, and I have not taken it anywhere for diagnostic yet.

Ive seen a couple others with key function issues on the Omen X lately.

I would contact HP Support immediately for warranty and have them resolve the issue.

The only way I know of to fix a faulty keyboard is to replace it.
