Hi @saudu,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing sudden spikes in network ping while gaming on your HP Victus laptop, and you've already tried various solutions from the internet without success, here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Update Network Drivers: Make sure that your network drivers are up to date. Go to the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the latest network drivers available for your device.

Check for Interference: WiFi signals can be affected by interference from other electronic devices, neighboring networks, or even household appliances. Try changing the WiFi channel on your router to see if it reduces interference.

Optimize WiFi Settings:

  • Access your router settings and make sure that it's set to use the least congested WiFi channel.
  • Enable Quality of Service (QoS) on your router to prioritize gaming traffic.
  • Ensure that your router firmware is up to date.

Reduce WiFi Interference:

  • Keep your laptop away from other electronic devices that may interfere with the WiFi signal.
  • Avoid placing your laptop near walls or large metal objects that can block or reflect WiFi signals.

Disable Background Apps: Make sure there are no bandwidth-consuming applications running in the background. Updates, cloud backups, or other downloads may affect your gaming performance.

Use a Wired Connection: If possible, try connecting your laptop directly to the router using an Ethernet cable. This can provide a more stable and lower-latency connection compared to WiFi.

Check for Malware: Run a malware scan on your laptop to ensure that there are no malicious programs affecting your network performance.

Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for networking issues.

Temporary Workaround: If you are still experiencing issues, you might consider using a USB WiFi adapter as a temporary solution. Sometimes, built-in WiFi cards may have compatibility issues, and an external adapter can provide a more stable connection.

Remember to document any changes you make so that you can easily revert them if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
