I recently bought HP Omen 17 with 13900hx and rtx4090. I have to return it due to the most basic cooling I've seen. Laptops that cost 1/4 price from competitors have better cooling solutions. Liquid metal? Forget! Vapor chamber? Are you insane?
All this laptop have is 3 tiny pipes and 2 super loud and inefficient fans. The final nail is HP is blocking any sort of undervolting apart of P-cores. So no undervolt for E-cores, cache, iGPU. CPU power boost is locked at 100w and 56 seconds burts. Every other brands offers proper undervolting through software or BIOS. Effect? Temps are 10-15C higher then other brands laptops. CPU and GPU is overheating and straggling to maintain high speed (for example in CP2077 Omen runs at 90C CPU with clocks around 3800mhz Lenovo 7i 75C and clocks over 5000mhz).
HP packing high level components to laptop doesn't make it gaming for enthusiasts. If you want people to take you seriously at least stop blocking Undervolting if your engineers have no skills to design a proper cooling solution and not using methods from 10y ago.
Return requested, soon on the way back to werehouse.
