Hi @PRADIP3406
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're seeing white dots on your HP laptop display, this could be due to several possible causes, such as a hardware issue, software problem, or even something related to the display settings. Here's how you can troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:
1. Check for Physical Damage
- Inspect the screen: Ensure there are no cracks or physical damage to the display. Physical damage can sometimes cause random white or colored dots on the screen.
- Clean the screen: Sometimes dirt or smudges can create the illusion of dots. Gently wipe the screen with a soft, microfiber cloth.
2. Restart Your Laptop
- Reboot: A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary software glitches that might be causing the white dots.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Restart, or turn off the laptop and then turn it back on.
3. Check for Software or Display Driver Issues
- Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues, including white dots.
- Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand the Display adapters section.
- Right-click on your graphics card and select Update driver.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to check for and install updates.
- Roll Back Drivers: If the white dots appeared after updating the display drivers, rolling them back to a previous version may help:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your graphics card, select Properties, go to the Driver tab, and choose Roll Back Driver if available.
4. Check Display Settings
- Resolution and Refresh Rate: Ensure your screen resolution and refresh rate settings are correct.
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Advanced display settings and verify the resolution and refresh rate are set to the recommended values for your display.
5. Test with an External Monitor
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using the appropriate cable (HDMI, VGA, etc.).
- If the white dots are only visible on the laptop screen and not on the external monitor, it's likely a hardware issue with the laptop's display.
- If the white dots appear on both screens, this could indicate a problem with the graphics card or driver.
6. Perform a Hardware Diagnostic
- Many HP laptops have built-in diagnostics that can help identify hardware issues.
- Turn off your laptop.
- Press the Esc key and immediately start tapping the F2 key to enter the HP Hardware Diagnostics menu.
- Run a Display Test to see if any hardware issues are detected with the screen.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
