Hello, I am experiencing a significant issue on my HP Omen laptop. Whenever I switch the graphics mode from "Hybrid" to "Discrete Only" in the Omen Gaming Hub. While in Hybrid mode, the Wi-Fi functions perfectly, but as soon as I select "Discrete Only" and restart, the Wi-Fi fails . The problem immediately resolves itself when I switch back to Hybrid mode.

Hi @alperbahadir,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Wi-Fi stops working only when you switch your HP Omen laptop to “Discrete Graphics Only” mode, while it works normally in Hybrid mode. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

    a. Check for Missing Wi-Fi Driver in Discrete Mode
In Discrete mode, the system disables the integrated GPU, which can sometimes disable PCI devices linked to it, including the Wi-Fi card.
After switching to Discrete mode, go to Device Manager > Network Adapters and see if the Wi-Fi adapter is missing or has a yellow warning icon.
If missing, move to the next steps.

    b. Update BIOS and Omen Gaming Hub
Visit HP’s support page for your Omen model and install the latest BIOS update.
Open Microsoft Store > Library and update Omen Gaming Hub and Omen SDK Package.
Restart and test again in Discrete mode.

    c. Update Wi-Fi and Chipset Drivers
Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi card (Intel/Realtek/MediaTek) and select Update Driver.
Also update System Chipset drivers (Intel/AMD) from HP’s driver page.
        Restart your laptop.

    d. Check BIOS for Wireless Device Settings
Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
Go to Advanced or Built-in Device Options.
Ensure Wireless LAN/WLAN is enabled. Some BIOS versions have an “Always On” or “Enable in Discrete Mode” option.

    e. Disable Fast Startup in Windows
Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable and uncheck Turn on Fast Startup.
Save and restart your laptop, then try switching graphics mode again.

I hope this helps.
