My laptop automatically updated to a new windows (I think 10) and now it says there was an error and it needs to restart but comes up with the same error when I tryx

I understand that your HP laptop upgraded to Windows 10 and does not boot after that. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you. 

 

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did the laptop stop booting right after it upgraded to Win10 or did it work for a while using the Win10 operating system?
