I can't get the the program installed.

The program came preinstalled on my HP pavilion (win10) It was working just fine here. Then I made a clean windows installation on my laptop (no HP assistent or HP recovery on pc) Now I want to install the program again. I have downloaded the sp77573 file. It opens the install shield wizard, I agree to license and click yes to the chosen locations and its extrating files, then nothing happens. No program is beeing installed.

I have tried open the location of the exstrated files and clicking setup file there - nothing happens.

Why won't it install? Is it because of the clean windows installation?

Input would be appreciated.

@CamillaH

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you're unable to install the Cyberlink Power Director 14 from the link provided in one of the posts above (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77501-78000/sp77573.exe).

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Please let me know the exact computer model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
  • DId toy clean install Win10 using a retail version of Microsoft disks or using the system recovery method of HP?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Please check if other programs are able to get installed on the computer.

You may try to refresh (repair) the Windows operating system as this can fix any issues with the Windows environment. Though the steps are for Win8, they will work for Win10 too.

Post the successful completion of Windows refresh, please try to install the Cyberlink power director.

I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂

Thank you for your reply.

I have made a clean installation using the microsoft tool to make a windows 10 iso. In the process I choose to delete all partitions pre-made on my laptop, including the HP recovery drive. So my pc have a clean installation using official microsoft tool .

My pc is this:

HP Pavilion - 14-al174no

I have downloaded the  sp77573.exe file fron the site of my own pc, here: https://support.hp.com/dk-da/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-al100-notebook-pc/12499206/model/141...

I have made the clean windows 10 installation serverel times thinking there could be an error. I have also downloaded the sp77573.exe file from the link in this post as well as other pc models site. With the same result.

The CyberLink Power Media Player-software (sp79320.exe) found just above the link to powerdirector works just fine. This I have installed without problems. Also i have installed other programs as well, the Cyberlink powerdirector 14 is the only one I have a problem with.

Hi @CamillaH,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

As I understand you have performed a clean installation of Windows 10 using retail version, this could be one of the reason why are you having issues installing Cyber link Power director. I would suggest here is to get back to the original Operating system shipped with the PC and check if the Cyber link power director works or not. If you haven't created a set of recovery media soon after purchase of this PC. The only other way to install Windows would be to order the recovery media for your laptop and using the recovery media you can install Windows. You can check if the recovery media is available online on www.hp.com/drivers by entering the exact model no. of your laptop. To find the exact model no. click here: http://hp.care/2bygf7l

HP PCs - Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive

Otherwise, you could also reach HP phone support to order the recovery media. If your product is out of warranty, please choose paid options to get the tech support number.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
