Officejet Pro 8720
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I just installed a new HP Officejet Pro 8720.  Airprint cannot find it.  There was no problem finding my previous printer.  There have been no changes to the network, other than the installation of the new printer.  The printer is connected to the network successfully, and I can print wirelessly from my laptops with no problem.

I have gone into the Embedded Web Server of the OfficeJet and see that Airprint is checked under Settings|Security|Administrator Settings in the Network Settings section.

On the printer, WiFi Direct is turned on with the Connection Method turned to automatic.

I have cycled the router off and on and done the same with the printer.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Hi @Lar3,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that Airprint is unable to detect your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer.

This issue could occur if the wireless settings are not correct.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Printing with Apple AirPrint (iOS)

If the issue persists, then you may update the firmware from the link: Firmware Update

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Updating the firmware on my HP 8720 did the trick. Thanks.
