Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Please help!

I have purchased a new printer (Deskjet 2622) and in order to install it, I have downloaded the App. The App is asking for the password in order to connect the printer but I have no idea what the password is and Virtual support is useless. My printer will not connect to WiFi- any ideas?

Hi @fycthr

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Looks like you have connected your computer to the printer's network, that's called as Wi-Fi Direct. If you are trying to connect the printer using Wi-Fi Direct, try these steps -

Step 1 Try the default password - 12345678.

If the default password does not work, please print a Network Configuration page and look for a Wi-Fi or a Wireless Direct password.

Step 2  To print a Network Configuration page - From the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button together to print the network configuration page.

If you'd like to connect the printer to your home network, try these steps -

We need to make sure the printer and the computer or mobile devices are all connected to the same network. If the Wi-Fi LED on the printer is blinking, the printer is not connected and try these steps -

Perform a network restore - Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

If the router has a WPS push button -

1) Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for more than three seconds to start WPS push mode. The Wireless light starts blinking.

2) Press the WPS button on your router.

NOTE: THE MOMENT YOU PRESS THE WIRELESS BUTTON ON YOUR PRINTER, WITHIN 30 SECONDS YOU SHOULD PRESS THE WPS BUTTON ON THE ROUTER.

If this step is not successful, then we need to first connect the printer to a computer using a USB and then convert the wired connection to wireless as the printer does not have a control panel to enter the Wi-Fi password. Please refer to this document for steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
