Dear community, 

 

My newly bought HP Envy 5030 won't connect to my Smartphone's Hotspot. 
I am aware of the simple option of working with a Wifi, yet due to technical issues, my apartment cannot be logged in with a normal Wifi and I am forced to use a Hotspot. 

 

Hoping you could assist me!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the connectivity issue. 

 

It is not recommended to connect HP printer through mobile hotspot due to limitations and restrictions. But you may try printing using the Wi-Fi Direct. With Wi-Fi Direct, you can print wirelessly from a computer, smart phone, tablet, or other wireless-capable device—without connecting to an existing wireless network.

 

Please refer to page# 46 from the User Manual for setup instructions.

Hello Asmita,

 

Thank you for your reply. 

As soon as I turn "Wifi Direct" mode on, I lose the connection to mobile data.  
This is also partly mentioned in the manual which you have referred me to.

My phone is functioning as a router for all other purposes, therefore I do not understand what "limitations and restrictions" are there... 

Unfortunately, this solution is not suitable for the issue I am dealing with, the way I understand it.
