Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

Printer was working fine, Windows updates - went to print once the update was finished and when i get to the print screen in red writing a message saying "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem 0x8007007e" appears.

along side this, I have just changed wireless internet router within the last week, but prior to windows update, printer seemed to work fine whether it was due to being plugged in via USB aswell i do not know.

i have tried to reconnect to new router, not working.

I have tried to removed and reinstall printer, still not working.

I do not know what to do now, could anyone help me identify the problem and give a solution, step by step. I have limited computer/printer knowledge.

*I'm not sure if the information regarding the current windows operating is 32-bit but it is windows 10.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: https://hp.care/2JyaC93

If the issue persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Hi I have tried this and it's still not working. Is there anything else? Is it to do with the windows update

HP Recommended

Yes, it could be. Let's try a system restore:

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.

3) Press F11 once for System Recovery.

4) Choose the Keyboard Layout.

5) Click on Troubleshoot.

6) Go to Recovery Manager and click on System Restore.

7) Choose a Restore point or a Restore date when the computer was working fine.

😎 Click on OK to initialize the System Restore.

PS: This will not delete any data.

Hi Rose-Rachael,

Have you solved the problem?

If not yet, can you verify something for me?

1. Is the pc running Windows 10 32bit or 64bit?

2. Are you able to locate PrintConfig.dll from one of below locations?

For 64bit: C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3

For 32bit: C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86\3
