HP Envy 5530 e all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried printing photos from my IPad and from  Windows system laptop on my HP Envy 5530 printer. I have used HP advanced photo paper and Kodak photo paper, 4x6 and 5x7. The printer makes the sound as if printing the photo, but it either does not print anything or half prints the photo leaving the other half blank. It also leaves black lines down the back of the photo paper. I can print the photo perfectly onto plain printer paper. I tried to copy a photo on the printer directly onto photo paper. I had the same problem, it only printed half the photo leaving the other half blank. I have cleaned the print heads, run diagnostic print report, aligned the printer. I have checked for updates, there are none. I reinstalled HP Smart app yesterday on my pc. I removed the ink cartridges and unplugged the back of the printer. Then plugged printer back on and replaced the ink cartridges to no avail. I am losing my mind. What can i do to resolve this.

@Denise64,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you able to print documents fine?

Meanwhile, I recommend you root uninstall the printer and then reinstall it.

Here is how it is done.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Restart the PC

14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.

I have already uninstalled the printer and reinstalled. This did not work. The problem is with the printer. I can print documents. I can also print photos onto plain printer paper but not onto HP or Kodak photo paper. I can copy photos on the printer onto plain printer paper but not onto photo paper. I cannot print photos from SD card onto photo paper. For some reason my printer cannot print onto photo paper. The printer makes noises as if it is printing but the photo paper comes out blank or sometimes half printed. There are also black lines down the back of the photo paper. A week ago it was printing photos fine. I have cleaned printheads. Cleaned the rollers. Unplugged the printer and plugged back in. I have tried everything suggested online. I bought the printer in 2015 so it is not under warranty.
