HP Smart App on i -phone i OS 11.2 does not see HP Envy Photo 7858 Printer on WiFi

HP Recommended
HP ENVY Photo 7800 All-in-One Printer series

I just purchased and installed the HP ENvy Photo 7858 printer on my home network via WiFi.  I have a solid blue light on HP Envy .   I can see the printer and print to it from other computers on the network;  WinXP, Win8, and Win10 OS's.

These other computers can print to the printer with no errors.

I have installed and re-installed HP Smart App on my i phone running i OS 11.2.

I have an existing HP LaserJet 4200 on the netwrok that the HP Smart App sees on my i phone.

The HP Laser Jet 4200 is wired via ethernet to the router which is also wireless.

ROuter: ASUS Wireless  AC1300, dual band Gigabit Router

I can print from a photo on my i phone i OS 11.2 directly to the HP Envy Photo 7858.

I can not print from i phone i OS 11.2 to HP Envy Photo 7858 by using HP Smart App installed on i Phone.

I have installed the HP Smart APP on other i phones that are on my network with the same results.

I have re-booted i phones.

I have reset the router with same results.

I have uninstaslled HP Smart App and re-instaslled the app on teh i Phone with same results.

PLEASE adivse.

I would like to be able to use the HP Smart App on my i phone to print.

Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are getting connectivity issues between iPhone and HP ENVY Photo 7800 Printer when you use HP Smart App. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • When did this issue start?
  • Did you do any hardware or software changes?

Uninstall HP Smart App and reinstall it.

Click here and refer the HP Document to know how to use HP Smart App.

If the issue persists, follow the below steps

Disable IPv6 on the printer

  1. From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon .

  2. Touch the Settings icon , and then touch Advanced Settings.

    • If IPv6 is set to Off, the printer is already using IPv4. Skip to the next step.

    • If IPv6 is set to On, touch to turn it off, and then touch Yes to confirm.

  3. Try printing from AirPrint.

Turn off Internet Printing Protocol over HTPPS (IPPS)

  1. Print a Network Configuration Page, and then locate the URL(s) for Embedded Web Server.

  2. From a computer connected to your network, type the entire URL into an Internet browser, and then press Enter. If the webpage remains blank, try a different Internet browser.

    The EWS displays.

  3. Click Network, and then click Internet Printing Protocol.

The Internet Printing Protocol screen displays.

  4. Clear the Internet Printing Protocol over HTPPS (IPPS) box, and then click Save.

  5. Try printing from AirPrint.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

Let me know how it goes.
