Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I do not have sharing privileges to the Wifi at my location and need to connect my laptop to my printer without an internet router.  I had thought I could use Bluetooth, but have since found that my printer does not have bluetooth capability.  However, I read an answer on Amazon from HP about my  printer model that mentioned Wifi Direct capability.  I looked up how to connect my printer to that, but cannot figure out how to do it.  When I look at my network setting there is no WiFi Direct choice.  Does my printer have this capability or not.  If so, how do I set it up?  If not, is there an alternative or must I buy a new printer?
