HP Envy 5530
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to print remotely from my laptop to the printer (in the same room) but keeps searching for a previously deleted print job.   When I open the "see what's printing window" on the main computer that the printer is connected to, it doesn't show this previously deleted print job.  Main computer is able to print current print jobs, but remote printing is stuck on searching for a previously deleted job. On the laptop I tried "restart" at the settings/printing spooling function, but it didn't help.  Any suggestions?

Hi TeresaC7,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that when you are trying to print to an HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer from your Windows 10 laptop on a WiFi network you are getting a message on the laptop that says "Please wait while HP eprint completes previous jobs". I would like to help with that.

I would start by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix printer or printing software problems.

When you are starting the print job it is possible to select HP ePrint instead of the HP ENVY 5530. The message that you posted mentioned that it was waiting for HP ePrint to finish previous jobs, so maybe the HP ePrint was selected instead of the HP ENVY 5530.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Thank you for the advice.

I am selecting HP eprint when I am trying to print remotely (from my laptop).  The printer is connected to my desktop computer.

If I run the diagnostic HP tool - should I run it from my laptop (where I am getting the error messages when I try to print remotely via eprint)?

Thanks.

Hi TeresaC7,

Thanks for the reply.

I am wondering if your laptop and the printer are on the same network. If they are on the same WiFi network, then you want to make sure you are selecting the HP ENVY 5530 instead of ePrint.

If your laptop and the printer are on different networks here is a support document that can help with sending print jobs using HP ePrint - Setting Up and Using HP ePrint.

If you have sent the email for the HP ePrint print job but it does not print this document can be used - HP ePrint Job Does Not Print.

If this helps you to reach a solution, please click the "Accept as Solution", and the "thumbs up" buttons down below in this message.:)

Thanks!

The best solution to this problem is to go here www.hp.com/go/eprintsoftware and download and install the latest version of the HP ePrint SW for Windows.  Starting with version 5.0 the HP ePrint SW no longer has the behavior where it sometimes has to wait for previous jobs to complete before processing another print job.

Thanks and good luck!
