Printing something from our laptop to our printer - HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer series. It says that we are offline. I have checked and we are connected to the WiFi. So what do I need to do? Thank you.

Hi @Sartory4

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printer offline issue.

To better assist you -

1.) Are the printer and computer connected to the same network?

2.) Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz? Or, maybe connected through an extender? If you are using a dual-band router, make sure the dual band has different SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G networks

3.) What is the distance between the router and the printer?

4.) Is there an antivirus software installed on your computer?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps to reboot the devices -

1.) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.

2.) Wait for 60 seconds.

3.) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.

4.) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.

5.) Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.

Download and install HP Print and Scan Doctor, it is a Windows tool to fix printer issues.

Update the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
