Are you seriously using the NT Operating System?  Remarkable.  Smiling.

Assuming the Full Feature Software (print program) is installed for your Deskjet printer and that you are using a relatively newer version of Windows:

 

The Printer needs to be selected as the "Default" printing device:

 

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >

Right-Click on your installed printer > Select as Default

 

Some applications may not (immediately) recognise the "default" setting -- confirm your printer is the 'device' selected for your print job.

 

Chrome Browser > Setting Bars > Print > Destination > Change > Select your Printer as the Default
