Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am changing printers (hp6830 to hp 4520), old one stopped working, can I switch to the new printer and keep the old instant ink account, or do I cancel the account and start a new one?

I also have a shipment of ink cartridges (not the same cart. as the new printer), unused, send these back?

Hey @David-F

I'd be happy to help. This document will guide you through adding your replacement printer to you HP Connected account: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04754134

You will need to cancel the account associated to the original printer, and this replacement printer will have a new account. And, yes you'll need to return the unused inks since they will not work in the replacement printer.

Cheers,
Lisa

I followed your document guide and got all messed up trying to add the new printer before removing the old printer. Your guide states:

"I purchased a replacement printer:

You cannot transfer the HP Instant Ink service from one printer to another. If you are replacing an Instant Ink printer, add the new printer to your account, and then cancel the original printer."

I had to phone your Tech line and they helped me get the new printer connected with instant ink, said I should have removed the old printer first. Thought you might want to change which way is correct.
