So I bought my printer earlier this week and set up, all good in that regard.
I didn't activate the 6 month free trial at the time as just wanted to use the physical cartridges' I had bought to do some work.
I revisited this yesterday to see about activitaing the free trial within the 7 days required.
What I didn't realise was I was meant to do it during set and use the first part of the printer email off the print info sheet as the code for it.
I've follow all the various support docs on here to reset/reinstall (web services etc) but it will not produce the code for the first part of the @hpeprint.com email on the printer info sheet no matter what - it just uses the email I changed the printer email to when setting up. Printers the printer code fine.
What step(s) am i missing here?

You can use the claim code on the information page to enroll in instant ink.
