Product: HP ENVY 6020 All-in-One Printer

I literally printed something and my black ink was working fine. A couple of weeks later I went to print something else and now the black ink is not working despite it being full still. The colour either doesn't come on the paper or comes on in a lighter tone. 

 

I've tried cleaning the print head, the ink smears. They are genuine HP ink cartridges and as I said were working previously so unless something drastically changed I don't think it the ink cartridges themselves that are the problem. 

I tried to align the printhead but the black lines and boxes did not print properly so am unable to do this. 

 

This is all really frustrating as I don't use the printer often, so it should be in good working order, but appears to be out of warranty now. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it !
