Black ink will not print

HP Recommended
Officejet 4622

My black ink will not print. It worked with my previous cartridges (which I recycled now), and I decided to buy a non-HP brand ink. I put the new cartridges in and every color except black printed. I then take it out after I see that a blank page was printed out and see that a little bit of black ink leaked out, slightly to the bottom right of the interior of the printer. I am unsure if that may have affected it, but I cleaned most of it up so unless there is a "black ink" reader where it spilled, I do not think that is the issue. The colors are printing fine, but the black ink just won't seem to print. I cleaned the printhead, through the option on the printer, and manually with a non-lint cloth. The ink levels are being read perfectly fine, so I feel that it may have something to do with how the printer reads where to print the black ink. Any help on this would do. Thanks.

@alvinc23, Welcome to HP Support Community!

The third-party ink cartridges will work. But there are many cartridges in the market which are refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it is not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
