I attempted to use Instant Ink cartridges purchased for my brother’s HP printer in my HP ENVY 7155 printer. My printer immediately locked up and now won’t boot. It stops booting after the screen shows a full bar on top of seven dots, one filled dot and six open dots.
It’s my suspicion and hope that installing Instant Ink cartridges sold specifically for my HP printer will stop the boot lock and enable my printer to work.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
We have to perform a Semi Full Reset to unlock the features of the printer Reset
The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
