We bought a used HP printer but when we powered it up it says it will not work without a "ink subscription" ? WTH! `this comes off as a robbery because we own it now, but without HP saying so it will not work, WE OWN IT NOT YOU HP and it should work for us period............
I will not buy hp anymore if this is not fixed.

It is possible that the machine was under a subscription by the previous user and they did not remove it from their account. The spec page for this model does not state that it requires an instant ink subscription, but if it was previously on one, it would need to be removed and you would also need to purchase new retail cartridges as the ones that are in it may be contract cartridges which will cease to function when the subscription to instant ink is cancelled.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.
