Brand new ink cartridge, but still getting cartridge error.

HP Recommended

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We were provided with new cartridges by HP Instant Ink program support and we are very thankful for their assistance, but we put the new black cartridge in from HP and the printer still won't recognize the ink cartridge.  We have tried everything from resetting to changing ink cartridges, etc. and nothing seems to fix the problem.

Does that mean it's a printer problem?

Yes, it is a printer issue. I may have a few pointers/suggestions to help you out, however, since these suggestions are limited to you and your printer alone, I'd like to send out a private message with those details.
