This may be an obvious question but never occurred to me before. I am an instant ink subscriber so my question is what happens if my network is down - can I still use my printer locally? Since it cannot communicate to the HP servers to monitor usage/pages for Instant Ink purposes, will the printer still work?

Earlier today I had to reboot my router so no WiFi or other network for a few minutes. I decided to make use of the down time by making a local copy of some docs I had. I loaded it into the ADF but the doc would not feed at all. Once the network came back up, the doc fed in automatically and all was well. Led me to wonder of I had mis-loaded the doc in the ADF. But then I wondered if the printing/copying functions were essentially "off" when online?

Can I use my printer for copying et

Hi @GeneJockey99

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

If the printer is enrolled in Instant Ink and you are using Instant Ink cartridges, the printer has to be connected to to the Internet for you to print or make copies. However, if you are using regular HP ink cartridges, the printer need not be connected to the Internet and you will be able to print and make copies.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
