Bought a refurbished printer and can’t register for instant ink

If your refurbished HP printer cannot be registered for Instant Ink because it shows as already registered, it's likely that the printer is still linked to a previous owner’s Instant Ink account. Here's what you can try to resolve this issue.

 

Factory Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset on your HP printer to remove any previous account settings. The steps to reset vary by model, but you can usually find the option in the Settings menu on the printer itself.

Check Instant Ink Cartridge:

  • Ensure that you are using Instant Ink eligible cartridges. Sometimes, non-eligible cartridges can cause registration issues.
