Microsoft Windows 11

I just canceled my instant ink service as I no longer print the large jobs anymore. I have a new set of cartridges I paid for thru the service. Now I’m being told the cartridges no longer work as I don’t have the service. I paid for these and can’t use them!!! Wow, do I need to trash this printer and go with a competitor that doesn’t do this? Maybe do!!😩

Hi @Roncook99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your instant ink cartridges.

HP Instant Ink is based on pages, not cartridges.

From the moment you insert the first service cartridges received with your Welcome Package, all following cartridges received will be Subscription Cartridges.

If you cancel the Service, even if the Subscription Cartridges provided with your subscription are not empty, they will stop working in your printer and you will have to replace all of them with standard cartridges.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
