Hi @LexiF,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "Cannot Print. Visit hpinstantink.com for information" typically appears on HP printers that are enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program and encounter issues related to cartridge recognition or connectivity. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps for "Cannot Print" Error Message

Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure that the new ink cartridge is correctly installed. Open the printer's access door and reseat the cartridge to ensure it's securely in place.

Verify Cartridge Compatibility

  • Confirm that the ink cartridge is compatible with your printer model. Using an incompatible cartridge can cause errors.

Clean Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and remove the ink cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge.
  • Allow the cartridge to dry for a few minutes before reinstalling it.

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can reset the printer and clear minor errors.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.

Reset the Printer

  • Perform a semi-full reset on your printer, which can often resolve persistent issues:
    • Press and hold the Power button while unplugging the printer.
    • After 30 seconds, plug the printer back in while still holding the Power button.
    • Release the Power button after another 30 seconds.

Check HP Instant Ink Status

  • If your printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink, ensure that your subscription is active and there are no issues with the cartridge delivery or billing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
