“Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink” message

I regret ever enrolling into Instant Ink. I have had nothing but problems since then with the printer not working. I feel held hostage to the Instant Ink cartridges and the undue pressure that is put on me. Furthermore, HP tried to sell me tech services and basically extorts everyone with these constant programs. I am considering throwing my printer out and buying a different brand. They also didn't live up to the promise of replacing cartridges of an old defective printer when I considered buying a new unit. I am thoroughly disappointed with HP.
