Cartridge

I changed the the black ink 950.But not with the 950xl. I don't have the color inks and trying to get the printer going.  The message I get is.( Install the cartridges that came with the printer.) Do I need to exchange all the inks for the printer to work?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  " Install cartridges that came with the printer" issue. 

 

Is the first time you are replacing ink cartridges on the printer?

 

Are the other cartridges setup in cartridges?

 

Let's try a power reset on the printer

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
