My printer doesn't work after cancelling my HP Instant ink subscription and yet for so many months that I had it, I never printed any pages at all. Now you're saying that I need to send back my cartridges and PAY for new ones? I am not getting my money's worth for this. What a rip-off!

Sorry you did not get value from the service, but it is like subscribing to a Cable provider and then never watching TV, or renting a car but not driving. If you were not printing the Instant Ink service was not a good fit for you.
When you sign up for the Instant Ink program you are NOT purchasing ink, you are purchasing a subscription to a set number of pages per month. The ink is supplied, but remains the property of HP and must be returned if you cancel the program in accordance with the terms of service. See sections 5.d and 9.c of the terms of service here.
