How do I change HP smart account username

I'd like to help!

 

I understand you are trying to change your HP Smart user name.

 

Update your HP Smart (formerly HP Connected) account information, such as the username, email address, and password.

  1. Sign in to HP Smart.

  2. Click the Account icon  at the top of the webpage.

  3. Select Settings to open the account information.

  4. Locate the setting you want to update, and then select the Edit icon  next to the setting.

  5. Update the information, and then click Save.

Thanks for the assistance.

 

Can change (i.e. update) e-mail address. This is probably a "nit pick"; but there does not seem to be a way to change the user name, which remains the old e-mail address. I realize one can sign with the user name or email. And, I am able to sign in with the updated e-mail. However, it seems to me this could a little confusing later on.

The HP Smart account takes some time to update, have you checked the account after 24hrs?

It has been well over 24 hrs since I updated the e-mail. As indicated in my previous reply, updating the e-mail was easy and took effect immediately and I can log in using the updated e-mail address. On the web page I see the user name is greyed out  and therefore not permitted to edit. Since the user name is not really needed to login, it doesn't matter that HP chooses not to let it be edited and remains the old e-mail address.
