I cant get my door to open to replace my ink cartridges it in lock mode and only opens one fourth of the way than i get an error message telling me to close cover as to not damage 🙃 any advice??

This seems like a hardware issue with the printer. Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05538593 refer to the step: Replace the ink cartridges. By the end of the article, you will be able to isolate the issue.
