Despite buying and inserting new HP cartridges the colour fault light is constantly flashing and window showing  cartridge empty, I have done every possible thing but the light keeps flashing, I even tried removing colour cartridge and selected to print in black but light kept flashing and printer won’t print

@Mary83-_, Welcome to HP Support Community!

May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Meanwhile, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Keep me posted.
