Does Instant Ink communicate to HP what type of doc I'm printing (xls;ppt; doc etc) ? If so are the contents available to HP?

Welcome to the HP Support Community

 

I understand need clarification with your Instant Ink. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

To answer your question: Instant Ink will not know what document you printed or even if it is a picture or a PDF file. Instant Ink only collects data associated with the ink level and the number of pages printed for the month so it can monitor and ship you ink accordingly.
