Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Instant Ink. Check out this link: HP INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER. .

Example: HP Envy Photo 7855

I've been having this problem for about a month now. It started with the black ink cartridge where out of nowhere my printer started to show a message saying to reinstall the cartridge. I came to the hp page and tried everything that support said. The cartridge is the one I got from Hp instant ink. The weird thing is that the black cartridge would work sometimes and it did not work sometimes. It was updated and it still had the same problem. The cartridge was clean and the color cartridge would work perfectly. So I decided to use the color cartridge only. When I ran out of the color cartridge I changed it and it worked good until this day. I cleaned it and did the same things that the hp website recommended. Note: The cartridge is full and new. The weird thing is that I put the old cartridge and the message wouldn't appear, but it is empty. Once college starts again ill be printing often so I need the cartridges to be working right.

Hi! @Kalac

Have you tried checking with a regular ink cartridge? Does the issue persist?

Update the printer firmware to the latest version and check if it helps.

Check the ink levels on your printer and replace the low, empty or faulty ink cartridges.

Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges.

Make sure the ink cartridges are inserted correctly
