Error: remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge making sure it is correctly installed

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My instant ink black cartridge suddenly stopped working, displaying  "remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge making sure it is correctly installed".

 

I've checked it's not physically damaged and I've followed the whole troubleshooting procedure including removing all cartridges, unplugging and performing a reset. The error remains.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the cartridge error. 

 

Please try these steps - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge
 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
