So what do I do with all these cartridges that HP sent me that I cannot use.

If the answer is recycle them, then where is HP's environmental accountability for shipping me so much in the first place?

Hi @SacTallBob,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience you've experienced with the excess Instant Ink cartridges sent to you. It’s understandable to feel frustrated when you receive products you cannot use, and I apologize for the oversight on our part.

At HP, we strive to provide efficient and responsible service, and it’s clear we did not meet those standards in this case. Your concerns about environmental accountability are valid, and we take them seriously.

To address this issue:

  • HP Instant Ink or Toner cartridges are the property of HP and must be returned when empty or when your service is canceled. Return empty supplies using a recycling envelope or a prepaid return address label from HP.
  • To return empty Instant Ink or Toner supplies:
  • Use the recycling envelope or prepaid shipping label that came with your last shipment of replacement supplies.
  • If you do not have an envelope or label, order more on your account page or HP Planet Partners website.
  • Instant Ink customers: Order return supplies on the account page.
  • Sign into your Instant Ink account or your Instant Ink for Business account.
  • Click HP Instant Ink, and then Overview in the left menu.
  • Click Recycle your ink cartridge or Recycle your toner cartridge at the bottom of the Cartridge Status area.
  • HP All-in Plan for Print customers: Order return supplies at HP Planet Partners.
  • Use the recycling envelope or shipping label to return the parts:
  • Ink cartridges: To maximize environmental benefits, wait until you have three to eight empty ink cartridges before returning them to HP.
  • Toner cartridges: Apply the prepaid shipping label to an old Instant Ink toner box or your own box.

I request you to share  the details in a private message.

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:
