I subscribe to Instant Ink at my home address, but I am currently working out of a second home.  My black ink is coming out very faint, so I replaced the cartridge with a brand new HP61 with an expiration date of January 2023.  The print did not improve at all.  I attempted to print an alignment page, but the black is not showing up and therefore the alignment is failing.  I cancelled the alignment and printed a short memo.  The black print is still very faint - a very light gray.   I have gone through all the trouble-shooting suggestions (cleaning cartridges...three times) but nothing is helping.  I believe I have a defective cartridge, but I bought the twin-pack of HP61 directly from HP.  Can you help me please?

I understand you are facing print quality issues.

  

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
