Getting instant ink services with my printer via my mobile device

HP Recommended
Deskjet 3755
Android 8.0 Oreo and older

I am unable to establish instant ink service with my mobile device because I am only able to connect with my wifi to my deskject 3755 if my mobile data is off.  I cannot subscribe to the instant ink service with my mobile data off. I don't understand. Anyone understand my problem? Thanks.

@Brittanylikesth, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I believe you are connecting the printer and the phone using wifi-direct. This is done only if you do not have access to a wireless router.

Yes, there will be no internet access on the phone while it is connected to the printer via wifi-direct and yes, the printer cannot be enrolled to Instant Ink if it is not connected to the internet.

If you have a wireless router, I suggest you connect the mobile device and the printer to your wireless router.

Kindly refer to this document to know how to connect.

Once the printer is connected to the internet/wireless router, you may enroll the printer in Instant Ink as shown in this document - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
