Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I received a new black ink cartridge and have replaced it in my printer. However each time I close the lid, I get a "cartridge problem" error.  It says to remove the black cartridge and reinstall it properly,  I did as suggested.  No luck.  I removed cartridges, unplugged everything, let it sit, pressed the power button for 30 seconds to drain any power, plugged it all back in.  Still get the error.   I cleaned the contacts.  Nothing.   I was able to print in single cartridge mode with only the tri-color.  Realizing I'm not able to use black ink, I went out and purchased an ink cartridge off the shelf and tried that...Same error. My printer is out of warranty  and I'm not sure where I can go to repair the printer.

 

Any other suggestions? Thank you.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
