Cannot find any info on the ERROR CODE  0X00829C98 H---WATCHDOG C   that is showing on the printers screen

the virtual assistant is not working and ran a diagnostic from my pc printer settings 

i feel like it is a problem with the printer itself and do not know what to do

Hi @EMILYCC

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to print due to an error on the printer. This could be a hardware issue with the printer. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Check for any jams inside the printer and make sure the print carriage is moving freely.

Reinsert the ink cartridges.

I have done everything sent on message and am still seeing the error on the printers screen and cannot even navigate on the printer the error displays and is frozen there after multiple attempts of following the suggested steps.  I give up and since the printer is no longer on warranty I fell I should just dump it.

That's unfortunate. If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
