Hi @mollysmowers,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Certainly, I can help you with that. If you want to use your HP printer without enrolling in the HP Instant Ink program, you can follow these steps.
Disable Web Services:
- On the printer control panel, navigate to "Setup," then "Web Services," and select "Disable."
Remove Instant Ink Cartridges:
- If you have cartridges provided by HP Instant Ink, replace them with regular HP ink cartridges.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in.
- Turn the printer back on.
Resetting the Network:
- If your printer is connected to a network, you may need to reset the network settings. Go to the "Network" or "Wireless" settings on your printer and choose "Restore Network Defaults."
Use Standard Cartridges:
- Make sure you are using regular HP ink cartridges instead of the ones provided by the Instant Ink program.
Configure Printer Settings:
- On your computer, go to "Devices and Printers" (Windows) or "Printers & Scanners" (Mac).
- Right-click on your printer and choose "Printer Properties" or "Options & Supplies."
- Look for any settings related to HP Instant Ink and make sure they are turned off.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check for firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website and install any available updates.
Printer Driver:
- Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. You can download it from the HP support website.
Avoid Automatic Updates:
- When installing printer software or drivers, be cautious about accepting automatic updates that may include Instant Ink features.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
